Over 60 per cent of youngsters excluded from school acquire a criminal conviction, research from the University of Southampton has found.
The report, "Criminality of former 'Excluded from School' adolescents", found that of 2 young adults discharged from a police exclusion unit, 137 had convictions, with the total cost of their crimes at least Pounds 4 million.
