Warm blast from past

NORTH-EAST Europe was warmer 6,000 years ago than it is today, according to findings from a database of the pollen found in fossils. With funding from the European Commission, data was collected across Europe by nine participating institutions including Cambridge University and the Universite de Provence-Aix-Marseille. It enables palynologists to study the plant history of areas over thousands of years through the pollen levels in sediment.
