Swansea Institute of Higher Education is to continue as an independent institution but seek membership of the University of Wales after a review of its future. The decision, made by governors this week, ends two years of uncertainty following the resignation of the principal after damning quality and National Audit Office reports on the institute's administration and franchised overseas courses.
