I trust that David C. Nicoll is not an academic. Before he sneered at Anne Boddington's description of going for promotion as "like playing poker with loaded dice", he should have checked that poker cannot be played with dice. It can.

I am sure he will find several shops in Hertfordshire where he can purchase a set of poker dice.
