AN INDUSTRIAL Tribunal has ruled that Accrington and Rossendale College indirectly discriminated against women by using lecturing services agency ELS. But the claim against the college, by Debra Allonby was rejected. Ms Allonby's statistical evidence showed prima-facie discrimination, but the tribunal ruled that the college's decision to use ELS in the 1996 academic year was justified. The tribunal also rejected Ms Allonby's claims for unfair dismissal. She is to appeal against some elements of the ruling.
