* A survey by the National Union of Students has listed 16 institutions as employing good practice in collecting fees.
Ranking institutions by quality of information and advice available, lack of administration charges or up-front payments and opportunities to pay in at least three instalments, the survey gave top marks to: Napier, Northumbria, Salford, Loughborough, Liverpool John Moores, Portsmouth and Kent universities and Roehampton Institute.
