A government-funded National Centre for Work Experience, set up by the Council for Industry in Higher Education, was launched in London this week. The centre will produce guides on the benefits of work experience, a register of work experience networks and establish a "communications group" to produce information. It is backed by a Pounds 188,000 grant from the Department for Education and Employment and is expected to be self-funding by March 2000.
