* St Andrews University has announced its "firm intention" to defend any action brought against it by former student Erin MacLean, who says she was raped while on an exchange course in the Ukraine in 1996. Ms MacLean, who waived her right to anonymity saying she wished to shame the university into publishing its investigation into the exchange, is to sue for breach of contract and negligence.
