Stirling University is building up partnerships to promote distance learning through the internet. It has joined Glasgow Caledonian University in launching a new MSc in lifelong learning, which is wholly internet-based. It is also linking with the University Southern Queensland in Australia and the University of Barcelona to exchange and develop internet-based postgraduate courses. Queensland has been funded by the Australian government and the AT&T foundation to develop courseware and an international network of institutions to support a graduate certificate in open and distance learning.
