Researchers seek annual lifelong review

* An Edinburgh University research team has called for an annual "state of the nation" report on lifelong learning in Scotland.

Tom Schuller and Caroline Bamford of Edinburgh's centre for continuing education, contributing to the Economic and Social Research Council's Pounds 2 million research programme on lifelong learning, say there must be a regular review of a wide range of learning to assess progress.
