* The convocation of Queen's University Belfast has backed a motion calling for a "detailed and careful reconsideration" of plans to restructure the university. A meeting attended by more than 250 people heard a series of people attack the proposals, which involve axing more than 100 academic staff and four departments. The motion will be reported to the senate, but convocation has no formal influence over university policy.
