Nottingham University has become the first British higher education institution to win Malaysian government approval to build a branch campus. British university representatives see it as an important response to fierce competition from Australian institutions for a share of the Pounds 350 million Malaysian student market. Students will be awarded Nottingham University degrees and fees will be lower than for overseas students at Nottingham.
