Financial penalties for universities that have under-recruited to teacher training courses will be softened this year, the TTA has confirmed. Setting out details of the distribution of Pounds 160 million between 115 providers for 1999-2000, it said cash claw-backs for under-recruitment would be made in six instalments, rather than three.
