The government has backed down on proposals to remove financial support for older disabled students. Disability support groups and the National Union of Students this week welcomed the government's promise to end financial discrimination against disabled students over 50. The government will also review access to DSAs for those between 50 and 55. Ministers had said that eligibility depended on such people returning to work after gaining a qualification.
