Student pursues MPhil through High Court

Cambridge University will face a High Court challenge to its "old boys" procedures next week. Kamran Beg, a postgraduate student at Trinity College, was granted High Court leave for a judicial review of Cambridge's disciplinary procedures last year. Mr Beg was accused of plagiarism in an essay for an MPhil in finance and failed to gain the qualification. Although he maintains that he did not act dishonestly, an internal tribunal upheld the initial decision not to award him the qualification.
