The objectives of the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts must be prioritised to prevent the proposed Pounds 10 million of support having "little significance or impact", the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals has warned. Nesta should initially prioritise calls for proposals in selected areas, the CVCP advises in its response to the consultation on Nesta. Many bids resulting in small awards will not encourage participation, its paper says.
