Scottish students on increase

In 1997-98, more than 660,000 students were enrolled in further or higher education in Scotland, nearly two-thirds of them in further education colleges. There was an increase of 4 per cent in student numbers over 1996-97. Most full-time students were in HE (85 per cent), while most part-time students were in FE (85 per cent).
