A high-tech software system pioneered by the University of St Andrews that enables academics with no special computer skills to manage groups of students and learning resources is to be extended to higher education institutions throughout Scotland. The Tutors and Groups Support Scheme (TAGS) has been awarded Pounds 185,000 by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council. A consortium from the universities of Dundee, Glasgow, Glasgow Caledonian, Aberdeen and the Northern College will develop the system, led by St. Andrews' Colin Allison.
