All three campuses of the University of Cote D'Ivoire have been closed indefinitely after the governing council declared the 1998-99 academic session void in all faculties except medicine and pharmacy, where lectures have not been interrupted. Students have been on an indefinite strike for the past two months pressing for a substantial increase in their grants and bursaries.
