The Viking Ship Museum at Roskilde, Denmark, is to construct the world's first full-size replica of a Viking ship based on one found in Roskilde Fjord. The original 30-metre-long ship was for 60 oarsmen and 100 warriors. It was built of oak felled near Dublin in spring 1042. The ship is thought to have belonged to Dublin's king, who was closely connected with the Danish royal family.
