Hardware and software corporations are cooperating in a Pounds 310 million worldwide initiative to help teachers and trainee teachers effectively apply computer technology to improve student learning.
Over the next three years, Intel Corporation will lead the group by investing more than Pounds 60 million in cash, equipment, curriculum development and programme management to train more than 400,000 teachers in 20 countries.
Microsoft Corporation will contribute more than Pounds 210 million in software and programme support. Hewlett-Packard and other companies have joined Intel with equipment donations and discounts.
