The Chartered Institute for Management Accountants launched a new qualification designed to address e-business demands at a London conference last Friday.
The institute plans to ensure its members are prepared for strategic leadership across all business disciplines as the knowledge economy develops. The qualification is based on widespread consultation with employers and Cima members.
Richard Scase, a government adviser and business visionary, said the role of management was changing rapidly. "The development of the virtual organisation presents fresh challenges. There is a greater need for organisational coordination. Companies must fully utilise organisational information to achieve improved service delivery," he said.
