An Oxford college is to run induction courses to help students from state schools get to grips with the Oxbridge system.
Mansfield College will run courses covering topics such as the tutorial system. The idea is part of a scheme supported by six other colleges - Worcester, New, Harris Manchester, Hertford, Keble and St Hugh's - to encourage more students from further education colleges.
David Marquand (pictured), principal of Mansfield said: "The premise is that there do exist in further education colleges bright kids with talent who could benefit from the Oxford system, but who are not applying."
