Teachers working all hours

University teachers work half as much unpaid overtime as their basic paid hours, according to figures published in the McCrone inquiry into Scottish teachers' conditions of service. A comparison of basic hours and unpaid and paid overtime found that many professions worked well beyond the notional working week.
