A Queensland inventor who changed his name by deed poll to Oxford University in an attempt to prove he has the right to keep the domain name www.oxford-university.com has lost his case.
A World Intellectual Property Organisation tribunal decided the name belonged to the university. Mr University, who answers the telephone as Oxford and was formerly called Doc Seagle, has registered several hundred domain names in the past three years.
