Bangor University's school of ocean sciences has received E1.5 million (Pounds 920,000) from the European Union to undertake pan-European research in marine physics, geology, biology and chemistry.
The projects include studies of life within and beneath ice floes in Russia's White Sea; an analysis of sea bed mussels in the mid-Atlantic; and an investigation of the biogeochemical processes occurring in threatened seagrass beds in Denmark, Portugal and Spain.
