* The CVCP announced a new joint initiative linking universities, colleges and schools in a bid to raise young people's interest in and access to higher education.
New Opportunities for All is a concordat between schools and further and higher education. It was agreed between the CVCP, the Association of Colleges, head teachers' unions and other bodies. The aim is to provide all young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with information about higher education and to build their confidence in aspiring to university. It also aims to raise teachers' awareness of the opportunities available in higher education.
