After 500 years the University of Aberdeen has learned some sponsorship tricks. The visitor's guide to Marischal College mentions the roof bosses on Mitchell hall, which commemorate such figures as the founder of the lectureship on comparative psychology (1896) and the founder of the chair of pathology (1882), adding that five blank shields are reserved for the arms of future benefactors.
