Turkish president Ahmet Necdet Sezer has attacked the powers of the country's higher education authority, Yok. Speaking at the opening ceremony of Ankara University, he said the authority's sole duty should be coordination and planning. His comments follow a showdown with Yok earlier this year over the selection of rectors.
