Imperial College, London, has agreed to recognise the qualifications of three other European universities as equivalent to its own.
Any student seeking a place on a masters course will be treated in the same way as an Imperial College candidate if they graduated from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, ETZ Zurich in Switzerland or Aachen University of Technology in Germany.
The group - which calls itself the IDEA League - made the decision following its first general assembly last month.
