Obesity rises in Ireland as men pile on pounds

Researchers studying the Irish diet have found a huge rise in obesity in the past decade, with men now overtaking women.

The Irish Universities Nutrition Alliance - which comprises the nutrition departments of Ulster University, University College Cork and Trinity College, Dublin - has found that two-thirds of men and almost half of women across Ireland are overweight or obese.
