Barry Jones , of Brunel University, has been awarded an honorary degree from the Technical University of Sofia for manufacturing metrology and industrial engineering.

Susan Povey , professor of human genetics at University College London, has been awarded the Fatima El-Fehria International Award for Women in Science .
