Terrorist attack closes universities
New York University and Columbia University immediately cancelled classes after the attack on the World Trade Center in New York. NYU issued a statement expressing grief for the “dreadful terrorist attack on our city". "Our hearts and thoughts are with those who have been victims of this terrorism." It said that no university facility had been damaged and that it did not believe “at this point” that any of its students, faculty or staff had been injured.
