Imperial scientists isolate cleft palate gene
Scientists at Imperial College, London, who have identified a gene that causes a rare form of cleft palate, today said the discovery might offer insights into human development. They found that the sex-linked form of cleft palate and an associated disorder called tongue-tie are caused by mutations in the T-box 22 gene.
