One of the first recruits to the University of Warwick's prestigious research fellowships is Sadie Plant, now at the University of Birmingham, who has been described in another newspaper as the cleverest woman in Britain.
Warwick is looking forward to more work like her article in the current issue of Wired magazine in which she announces that new technology is about to render universities redundant. It ends: "While the present system may survive for some time, intelligence is already trafficked elsewhere."
