The ILA 2002 international aerospace exhibition will take place at Berlin's Schönefeld Airport from 6 to 12 May.
The event, which will be opened by the German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, will showcase European space activities including space science, Earth observation, telecommunications, satellite navigation, the International space station and technology programmes. The European space agency (ESA), German space agency DLR and the German aerospace industries association (BDLI) will exhibit at the event.
It will include a presentation by members of the European astronaut Corps, a film about the International space station and a debate on space-industry relations.
A press conference with Edelgard Buhlman, German Minister for education and research and Chair of the ESA Ministerial Council, ESA Director General Antonio Rodotà and Chairman of the executive board of DLR Sigmar Wittig, will be held on 3 May at the Ministry of education and research in Berlin.
