The European Commission's Research DG has announced a call for tenders for a study on national, international and professional training material for ethics in research.
The European Commission intends to launch the invitation to tender within the framework of the European research area (ERA) and the implementation of the science and society action plan ethics committees.
The purpose of this study is to gather information on training resources that exist in the European Union, the candidate countries and other partners in the Framework programme, analyse the data, identify the best training material providers and to provide selected excellent material for different purposes from the material surveyed.
The contract will contribute to the science and society action plan action 31: 'model courses will be developed in order to raise the awareness of researchers in the field of ethics'. This is in line with the policy of the Sixth Framework programme (Article 3), which says that EU research activities have to conform with the ethical principles stated in the European Charter of fundamental rights.
