Brussels, 18 Oct 2002

A seminar on forest research and the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) will take place in Paris, France on 25 November.

The one day event will provide a platform for dialogue and an exchange of information between the EU and the forest research community on the new framework programme. Participants will have the opportunity to present their views on how forest-related research can contribute to both FP6 and the European Research Area.

Speakers at the event will include representatives from the Commission's Research DG, end-users of forest research, specialists in the various fields of forest research and representatives from other fields of science relevant to forest research.

The seminar is organised by the European Forest Institute in cooperation with ECOFOR, with support from the EU funded project IMACFORD (Improving and advancing the coordination of forest research and development in Europe).
