The European Commission has published a call for tenders for studies in the context of the eLearning initiative.
On 28 March 2001 the European Commission adopted the action plan 'eLearning, designing tomorrow's education' which forms part of the overall eEurope Action Plan. This initiative is intended to mobilise the education and cultural sectors, as well as Europe's economic and social players, into speeding up the rate at which education and training systems are being adapted to the knowledge-based society and the digital culture.
The object of the contract involves carrying out analysis, evaluation, comparative, feasibility or follow-up studies on themes from those areas the eLearning Action Plan has defined as being intervention areas. In particular, these studies will look at the eLearning industry and market in Europe, the use of ICT for learning and teaching in initial vocational education, and training and eLearning in continuing vocational training, particularly eLearning at the workplace, with a focus on small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
