Brussels, 30 Oct 2002
More than 400 experts from research centres, public authorities, leading electr(on)ic, automotive and recycling companies will meet in Vienna from 25 to 28 November for a congress on electronics and the environment.
Going Green - CARE INNOVATION 2002 will provide a platform to discuss the latest progress on sustainable development, eco-efficient electr(on)ics and automotive products. EU directives for the reduction of environmental impact will soon become effective, making the discussions especially important at this time. Along with the international congress, a brokerage event and an environmental exhibition will take place.
The event has been organised by Care Electronics (Comprehensive Approach for the Recycling and Eco-efficiency of Electronics). Formerly a EUREKA Umbrella project, the project comprises a strategic initiative to understand the international and national implications of sustainability for the electr(on)ics industry in the future. CARE Electronics is an independent, industrial R&D network with members from large and small companies as well as research organisations.
The conference will be organised in close cooperation with IEEE TC Electronics, the Environment (USA) and the Union of Eco-Designers (Japan).
