Research on nanotechnology and nanosciences is covered by one of the seven thematic priorities under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is hosting a new page to explain to the young public what nanotechnology stands for.
A downloadable presentation in 11 languages provides an overview of the current research trends and new tools. It insists on the advantages of working with 'small things' and highlights a couple of existing examples. The simple and amusing approach is meant to deliver a catchy message to a young audience, but can also be useful for other users wishing to understand the subject.
This new feature complements the fledgling nanotechnology thematic service, which offers direct and central access to funding opportunities both at European and national level, project descriptions, publications and surveys, network details and press information.
