CORDIS launches Greek research and innovation information service

January 8, 2003

Brussels, 02 Jan 2003

CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is offering a new window dedicated to research and innovation activities led by the Greek Presidency (1 January to 30 June 2003).

Developed jointly by CORDIS and the Greek National Documentation Centre, the service highlights the Presidency programme and priorities and offers in depth coverage of news and events. The service will provide timely information on the three Competitiveness Council meetings as well as on various conferences illustrating the Presidency's priorities on research cooperation with the Balkans and Mediterranean countries and technology foresight.

In addition, the service offers insights into the Greek research system, innovation policies and the programmes run by the General secretariat for research and technology (GRST) of the Ministry of Development, which aim to support public and private participation. It also provides information on Greek involvement in European research, including details of more than 1,600 projects involving Greek organisations. The site also offers information on Greek funding opportunities, key figures, official documents, national contacts and links to institutions, universities, science parks and more.

This interface will be helpful for following the first steps of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) implementation and new initiatives to make the enlarged European Research Area (ERA) a reality. This service will soon be available in Greek.
