The first world e-learning conference is to take place in Edinburgh from 9 to 12 February.
Global experts in academia, industry and government will be brought together and, through a series of presentations, discussions and workshops, they will debate the impact of e-learning authorities on business and global skills development.
Some of the items to be covered at the event include:
- Variations in e-learning in Europe: is there a 'one size fits all' model?
- Promising practices in corporate e-learning in selected European countries;
- Skills issues in e-learning;
- Possibilities and prospects for e-learning in higher education.
Among the speakers is Brian Holmes, from the European Commission's DG Education and Culture, who is primarily responsible for the e-learning industry group, professional skills development, standards and quality for e-learning. Mr Holmes will present an overview of the e-learning initiative in Europe.
