Brussels, 11 Feb 2003
The association of European science and technology transfer professionals (ASTP) will hold a workshop on intellectual property marketing and licensing strategies in London, UK, on 3 April.
The day will include presentations on deciding between licensing or creating a spin-out; how to exploit technology to a company; balancing the risks and rewards for both parties in licensing deals; the company perspective; and a case study focusing on the licensing of a new medical imaging device.
Technology transfer managers devote a lot of time and money to finding new technologies and patenting them, but less planning and implementing a strategy for exploiting the technology. The event covers the technology transfer process from the day the patent is filed to the day the license agreement is concluded.
The workshop is particularly designed for technology transfer managers who have been in their posts for between six months and a few years who feel that they are not yet as effective as the could be.
