The Commission is seeking women evaluators for proposals submitted under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6).
The Commission's target for the participation of women in evaluation panels and committees is 40 per cent, which is significantly higher than the percentage of women in the database of FP5 evaluators - only 18 per cent.
Specifically, the Commission is seeking three categories of women evaluators:
- Women scientists with expertise in all scientific disciplines in order to increase the number of women in all evaluation panels for the different thematic priorities.
- Women scientists with expertise in all scientific disciplines who are sensitive to gender issues. The gender dimension is more prevalent in FP6 than FP5, having been integrated into the different thematic priorities at various stages of the project cycle. Networks of excellence and integrated projects will be required to present a gender equality action plan as part of their proposals.
- Women scientists whose main field of expertise is gender. Such evaluators will be needed to assess the specific 'women and science' activities that will be funded under the science and society budget.
