CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, has launched a dedicated service for research activities related to food quality and safety.
The new service, part of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) portal, offers central access to all related information, including a brief overview of the thematic priority, news, forthcoming events and direct links to assist in the application process for research funding, for which 685 million euro is earmarked.
Users can quickly access documentation on funding mechanisms and dedicated calls, identify support and potential partners, browse over 2,000 past projects and consult publications. In addition, this service offers the contact details of the scientific officers at the European Commission and useful links. Background information is also available on international cooperation and the eligibility of small and medium sized enterprise for participation in research projects in these fields.
The service provides timely information and will highlight upcoming activities, and newly funded projects as soon as information becomes available. This dedicated web interface also aims at promoting research leading to the health and well being of European citizens as well as safer and high-quality food.
