Brussels, 18 Mar 2003

CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is providing a dedicated service for the coordination of research activities at both national and European level.

The activities supported aim to contribute to the creation of the European Research Area (ERA) by stimulating and supporting programme coordination and joint activities conducted at national or regional level. In addition, actions will support synergy between the Community and other European scientific organisations such as COST and EUREKA.

The new service, part of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) portal, offers central access to all related information, including an overview of the objectives and activities, news, forthcoming events and direct links to ease the application process for the research funding opportunities under FP6, for which 0 million euro is earmarked.

Users can quickly access information on the different schemes to coordinate research and implement joint activities. Background information is also available on international cooperation networks. In addition, this service offers documentation on dedicated calls, support and relevant publications. http://www.cordis.lu/coordination/home.h tml
