The 2003 ESARDA (European safeguards research and development association) symposium will take place from 13 to 15 May in Stockholm, Sweden.
ESARDA is an association of European organisations actively involved in the research and development of nuclear safeguards. Its objective is to advance the progress of safeguards, enhance the efficiency of current systems, and investigate the development and implementation of new techniques.
The 2003 symposium will provide an opportunity for scientific exchange and collaboration. The latest developments and different perspectives on tackling the challenges in the field will be presented and debated.
Around 200 specialists are expected to attend the event, and around 100 papers will be presented. Topical meetings will also be organised to address specific issues, including:
- safeguard systems past, present and future;
- aspects of non-proliferation;
- destructive analysis;
- combating illicit trafficking;
- measurement techniques for spent fuel.
