Funding from the European Social Fund (ESF) is available for students wishing to study for an advanced Masters in telecommunications and distributed systems at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland.
The course was developed four years ago in conjunction with major telecommunications companies. The funding currently available from the ESF is intended for EU nationals.
'The ESF funding enables us to support more EU national who wish to take up the course to increase their skills set in advanced telecommunications technologies and to help them develop and attract sustainable job prospects as the economy, particularly the ICT [information communications technology] sector, recovers from the downturn across Europe,' says Professor Gerard Parr, Chair in Telecommunications at Ulster University.
Topics covered by the course include advanced network management, distributed systems, high speed networking, network simulation, SDH/ATM transport, intelligent systems, multimedia, mobile agents, client-server protocols and middleware.
