The "world's first" Centre for Applied Arts Research has been launched at University College Northampton. The centre has been set up to offer practical arts-based collaborative projects that can be researched at postgraduate level. Centre director Judith Ackroyd said: "No other research centre in the world exists for both researching and practising applied arts."
